And the numbers were the result of a simple test. Instead of sending out regular text-based marketing emails, they sent out emails that contained a video.

Not surprisingly, these numbers fall in line Cisco’s detaild, 38-page Visual Marketing Index report, which states that within the next 2 years, video will account for 82% of all online traffic.

Now to be clear, video shot on a smartphone will not look better than video shot on a DSLR or an expensive video camera. But that doesn’t matter, because these days smartphone video is more than good enough to get the job done.

Plus with a smartphone, you don’t need to spend $1,000+ on a camera, gear and editing software. Then spend an hour setting everything up. Then spend another hour taking the video off your camera and editing it on a computer. Then upload it somewhere.
